Patricia Walker Obituary

Patricia A. Walker (Patsy), 70, of Bakersville, NC, died May 13, 2020 at her home following complications from a stroke. Born in Bloomsburg, PA on October 9, 1949, Patsy grew up in Avoca, PA, Ossining, NY and Eaton, OH. She met Louis C. Walker in high school. They married and had two daughters, Holly and Heather. They relocated to Pinehurst, NC in the early 1980's. Patsy worked at many restaurants around the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area as chef/food service director. In 1989 she moved to North Myrtle Beach and continued to work as a chef. After her father's death in 1995, she moved to Montoursville, PA to be with her mother. She and her mother loved antiquing and sold antiques in a co-op antique barn. Patsy's mother passed away in 2010. She then moved to Bakersville to be close to Holly and Heather. She quickly charmed her new friends in Loafers Glory and always prepared a delicious dessert for neighborhood meals. As successful as her career was, her most difficult and rewarding job was that of Heather's primary caretaker following Heather's heart transplant journey in 2019. Her family is forever indebted to her for her dedication to Heather's recovery. She loved cooking, reading, thrift stores and Blue Bloods. The best way to remember Patsy is to enjoy a wonderful meal, listen to great music, raise a glass, and love and laugh with friends and family.

Patsy was predeceased in death by her father, Robert C. Conniff, Sr., mother May E. Conniff, and infant sister Kathleen A. Conniff. She is survived by daughters Holly A.Walker (Anthony Wilson) of Bakersville, NC and Heather M. Walker of Loris, SC and siblings: James N. Conniff (Nancy) Trenton, OH, Robert C. Conniff Jr. Montoursville, PA, May E. Poppick, Cambria, CA, Augustine P. Conniff Mountain Home, AR, Nanci Conniff  CA, Kevin B. Conniff Cassopolis, MI, Timothy J. Conniff (Amy) Mooresville, NC, Constance W. Sanders, Richmond, IN. Nephews and nieces surviving are: James Conniff (Kara) Trenton, OH, Kyle Conniff, Carolina Beach, NC, Aaron Poppick, Seattle, WA, Kerry and Kathy Conniff, Ypsilanti, MI, Nathan Cauwet, CA and Kathryn Conniff (Ryn) Mooresville, NC. Also surviving are great niece and nephew Ryleigh and Jameson Conniff, and Taran Hollon, all of Trenton, OH and sister-in-law Marfa Conniff of Middlebury, IN.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
