Oma Gail Peterson, age 54, of the Poplar Community, Green Mtn, NC went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was born on May 19, 1965 in Burnsville, NC to Jack and Inez Byrd. She leaves behind her husband of 36 years, Randy Peterson of their home; her daughter, April Ayers and husband Jamie and her son, Nicky Peterson all of Burnsville; 2 grandchildren: Alex and Greyson whom she loved very much. Also surviving are her siblings: sisters: Rita Prince (Herbert) of Marion, Sally Hedrick (Melvin) of Burnsville and Trudy McCurry of Marion; brothers: Ricky Byrd (Shirley) and Grady Byrd all of Burnsville; mother in law, Linda Peterson, sisters in law, Venita Honeycutt (Dan) and Sherry Byrd; brothers in law: Marty Peterson (Karen) and Ralph Hedrick; very good friends: Eugene Linville and Cary Ward and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Oma Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Inez Byrd; infant son, Matthew Peterson, sister, Susie Hedrick, infant brother, Jackie Lynn Byrd, father in law, Robert Peterson and brother in law, Clifton McCurry.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Murphy and Rev. Danny Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Peterson Family Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
