Norman "Bobby" Eugene Guthrie age 92, of Mule Trail Drive, Bakersville, NC passed away February 15, 2023. He was a native of Rowan County, NC and a Veteran of The United States Army. He was previously employed as a structural engineer with The State Of North Carolina.

Norman was a lifelong Southern Baptist and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Raleigh where he lived for many years. Norman was married on September 6, 1956 to Joyce Teal in Amarillo, TX, she preceded him in death in 2010. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and enjoyed his work until retiring to his home on Roan Mountain near Bakersville, NC.

Survivors include his daughter D Anne Thomas (Joe), and his special caregivers Sandy Woody (Tylie), and a close friend Doug Davidson.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 3:00PM at Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum with Reverend Keith Beck officiating. Entombment will follow the service.
