Nellie Poole Rolen, age 80 of Bakersville, NC passed away on Monday March 19, 2018 in the Brian Center in Spruce Pine, NC. A native of Greenville County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Earl Poole and Elena Poole McGill. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Poole and a sister, Bobbie Jean Futrell. Nellie retired from Leo's Dancewear in Chicago, IL before moving to Bakersville  with her husband Ed in 1992. She was a member of McKinney Cove Baptist Church and the Ruritan Club.

Nellie is survived by her husband, Ed Rolen of the home; son, Tom Rolen and wife Nancy of Knoxville, TN; brother, Paul Poole of Greenville, SC; two granddaughters: Elena Rolen Black and husband Glen and Hannah Rolen Lineberger and husband Steven; three great grandchildren: Emma Black, Lydia Black and Michael Lineberger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8:00 pm Friday, March 23, 2018 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Todd Ayers and Daniel Whetstine officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm prior to the service. Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday in the McKinney Cove Cemetery.
