Nell Maltba Pitman,  of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruby Stewart Maltba. Nell enjoyed the outdoors and especially spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Britton Pitman; her son, James Roy Pitman; sisters: Joyce Franklin, Minnie Pitman, Hildred Holtsclaw and Elizabeth Goforth; brothers: Delbert and Larry Maltba.

Survivors include her two daughters, Deborah Beam (Larry) and Lynn Yelton (Doug); sister, Phyllis Vance; brother, Newt Maltba; grandchildren: Jessica Roberts, Randall Beam, Brittany LaPlante and Heather Hughes; great grandchildren: Addyson, Ansley, Dawson, Makenlee, Elijah, Jude, Stephen, Landon, Maverick and Kiera.

Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Sullins Cemetery, Sullins Branch Rd, Spruce Pine, NC with Rev. Larry Greene officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Home Care of the Blue Ridge by going to www.hospiceblueridge.com.
