Dateline: Bakersville, NC

Natalie Greene, age 92, of NC 261 went home to be with the Lord December 1, 2021. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Harrison and Edith Buchanan Hobson. She was previously employed at Wal-Mart as a greeter and also loved her job with the Forest Service at the visitor station on Roan Mountain. Natalie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church Bakersville, NC. She enjoyed people, going to church, and working in her garden.

Survivors include one son Bart Greene and special friend Phyllis Canipe, of Bakersville, NC, daughter in law Jamie Greene, of Church Hill, TN, three grandchildren; Heath Greene, Dawn Trivette, and Shane Greene, nine great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren, and two special nieces; Deb Strickland, and Cindy Short.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Junior Greene, two sons; Larry Dean Greene and Greg Greene, one sister Juanita Woody, and one brother Marvin Hobson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00PM in Calvary Baptist Church (Staggerweed Rd), with John McKinney, Jeremy Smith, and Shane Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fork Mountain Cemetery.
