Nancy Watson Ledford age 69 of Bakersville passed away Saturday August 22, 2026 at her home. Born in Mitchell County she was a daughter of the late Elbert D. and Lizzy Dellinger Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Carpenter and two brothers, Troy and Bruce Watson.

Nancy worked in the finish room at Henredon until it closed. She loved her children and grandchildren,

Left to cherish her memories is her husband Donnie Ledford of the home, sons, Jack Curtis Ledford of Linville Falls, James Darren Ledford of Spruce Pine and Donnie Joe Burleson of Marion, a daughter Stacy Jo Burleson of Spruce Pine, grandchildren, Jason and Brayden Ledford of Burnsville, and Ian Burleson and Betsy Habernack both of Spruce Pine. She is also survived by her sisters, Ada Calloway of Canton, OH, Ruth Phillips of Bakersville, Lina Wise of Newland and Linda Pitman of Marion, and brothers, Dana Watson of Newland, Aster Watson and Ronny Watson both of Bakersville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ledford will be conducted at 3:00 pm Wednesday August 26, 2026 at the Faith Baptist Church with the Revs. Matthew Ward, Mark McKinney and Tim Watson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
