Myrtle Butler age 72, of North Highway 226, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord August 28, 2021. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Glenn and Mae Mosley Banks. She was previously employed by American Thread in Marion, NC. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church who loved her family, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include: daughters; Lori South (Steve), of Green Mountain, NC, Teresa Sanders (Brent Rogers), of Spruce Pine, NC, six sisters; Diane Foley, Josie Garland, Wanda Hope Yelton, Mary Garland, and Pearl Yelton, all of Bakersville, NC, and Thelma Lovelace, of Unicoi, TN, one brother; Ronnie Banks, of Bakersville, NC, two grandchildren; Cody South and Raquel Sanders, three great grandchildren; Adrian South, Marlee Elliott, and Remmie Elliot.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband; J.C. Butler, two sisters; Ethel Hoilman, and Helen Yelton, three brothers: Russell Banks, Edmond Banks, and Marshall Banks, and one grandchild: Jason Cole.

A private funeral service will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Peterson officiating, all are welcome to attend the following graveside service at Fork Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
