Milton Laws, age 85, of Bakersville, North Carolina, passed away on June 14, 2026. A native of Mitchell County, NC, Milton was the son of the late Mose and Layuna Davis Laws. He retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing after a dedicated career.

Milton was a devoted member of the Baptist faith and had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and had a particular fondness for finding and digging ginseng.

He is survived by his five children: Kathy McClellan (Bobby) of Spruce Pine, NC; Keith Laws (Lois) of Burnsville, NC; Kay Murphy of Spruce Pine, NC; Karen Carroll (Bondy) of Spruce Pine, NC; and Kim Laws of Burnsville, NC. Also surviving are one brother, Lawrence Jones (Patsy) of Hickory, NC, along with twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Ollis Laws, his parents, and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, with Dr. Darrin Waldroup and Reverend Jerry Sparks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery.
