Michael Billy Whitehead age 74 of Bakersville passed away Friday October 9, 2026 at the Elderberry Health Care Center in Marshall. Born in Carter County Tennessee he was a son of the late Joe and Lucy Hopson Whitehead.

Michael was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church; he loved restoring old guns and working on old cars and motorcycles.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife Lana Greene Whitehead of the home, daughter Tessie Seeley and husband Tyree of Raleigh, NC, son, Zachary Whitehead and wife Jessi of Nashville, TN, brothers, Danny Whitehead and wife Phyllis, and Jeff Whitehead and wife Melonie and a sister Suzanne Galyon and husband Steve. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
