Michael "Mike" Darren Greene, age 51 of Polly Hollow Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away July 7, 2018. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of Thomas and Sue Greene who survive. He was previously employed with American Thread Company. He was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church. Upon leaving friends and family his last words were always "I Love You"

Survivors in addition to his parents include: his wife; Michele Statler Greene, of Bakersville, NC, one son; Michael Seth Greene, of Bakersville, NC, one brother; Mark Greene (Revonda), of Bakersville, NC, two stepsons; Jonathan Wise and Charles Dalton Wise, one niece; Brandi Greene Robinson, several aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of friends, and best friend pet "Caty".

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Festus Hughes, and Mr. and Mrs. Edd Greene.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Mark McKinney and Don Stafford officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Green - Young Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Greene family at 85 Crimson Laurel Way, Bakersville, NC 28705.
