Michael Buchanan, age 71, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Howard and Ruby Pittman Buchanan. Michael was a truck driver for many years but his passion was riding horses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Buchanan.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Michael Brian Buchanan and wife Amy of Burnsville, and Christopher James Buchanan  and wife Emily of Bakersville; sisters, Annette Duncan (Jerry), Judy Snyder and Gayle Buchanan (Jim); and grandson, Austin Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, June 14, 2024 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
