Dateline: Spruce Pine, NC

Melissa "Moose" Hoilman age 53 of McKinney Mine Rd, Spruce Pine, NC passed away July 4, 2024.

She was a daughter of the late Richard Hoilman and Carolyn Sue Yelton Honeycutt. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and previously employed as a CNA in home healthcare. She was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church and she loved helping others, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Laura Hoilman, of Spruce Pine, NC, stepmother Rosalee Hoilman, of Bakersville, NC,  two sisters Marsha Vance, of Bakersville, NC, and Angie Dolan, of Spruce Pine, NC, two grandchildren Delilah Hoilman and Mason Jones, and a special friend Kevin Hall, and two stepbrothers Bill and Peanut.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her grandparents Frank and Dovie Yelton, and her uncle Martin Yelton, and a stepsister Vicki Roland.

A private memorial service will be held with Reverend Skip Weiford officiating. Memorials may be made to The Mitchell County Animal Rescue.
