Melanie Dawn Shell, age 46, of Lower Spring Creek Rd. Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord August 15, 2016 .

She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and employed as a Supervisor in the front office at Bakersville Community Health Center . She was a member and attended Upper Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Piano Player. She was loved and cherished by her coworkers and patients at Bakersville Community Health Center.

Survivors include: her parents; Michael and Audrey Gouge Burleson, of Green Mountain, NC, her husband; Mike Wayne Shell, of the home, one daughter; Shanda Rachelle Shell, and fiancé Tyler Sanders, of Bakersville, NC,  one son; Skyler Austin Shell, also of Bakersville, NC, father and mother in law; Lawrence and Linda Shell, of Bakersville, NC, a number of special friends, and her beloved pet yorkie Sadie.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with David Garland and Dalton Rhinecker officiating. The family will receive friends three hours prior to the service. Interment will be Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00AM at Bennett Cemetery ( Pigeon Roost Rd ).
