Maude Parker Sparks Forbes, age 90, of Cove Creek Rd, Roan Mountain, TN went home to be with the Lord, December 18, 2017 . She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Fornum and Julie Canipe Parker. She was retired from the Carter County School System where she was a cook. She was a member of Burbank Freewill Baptist Church .

Survivors include her son Milton "Buddy" Sparks , (Ruthann), of Roan Mountain , TN , a nephew Sammy Parker and a niece Pat Parker, grandchildren, Lukas Sparks and Christian Jones, great grandchildren, Dillon, Abriella, Brooklynn, Tanner, and Brody.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a sister, Ethel Hoilman, and four brothers, Sam, Jake, Claude, and Jeter Parker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1:00PM in Burbank Freewill Baptist Church with Randy English and Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bailey Cemetery , John Sparks Rd , Bakersville , NC .
