Mary Belle Gouge Buchanan, age 92 of Maple Street , Bakersville , NC , went home to be with her Lord April 14, 2015 . She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Tim and Lockie Willis Gouge. She was retired from Ellen Knitting Company and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three daughters; Betty Jean Buchanan Greene, of Hickory, NC, Barbara Sue Buchanan Harrell (Doug), of Bakersville, NC, and Elizabeth Ann Buchanan (Gary), of Hendersonville, NC, one sister Bonnie Elizabeth Geouge, of Spruce Pine, NC, two brothers; Glenn Gouge, of Chimney Rock, NC, and Leonard Geouge, of Bakersville, NC, nine grandchildren; Donald Scott Greene, Michael Anthony Greene, Cyndi McDaniel, Jennifer Catron, Tony Harrell, Greg Harrell, Greta Greeson, Shawn Buchanan, and Noah Buchanan, thirty two great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband Paul G. Buchanan, a grandson Gabe Buchanan, two sisters; Nettie Grindstaff, and Pearl Franklin, and a brother Edd Geouge.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Rathbone officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery .
