Martha Phillips, age 85, of Greasy Creek Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away August 19, 2020. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Ike and Rosa Frye Sheets. She was a member of Roans Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husbands, Ferrell Burleson and Gene Phillips; two sons; Mike and Roger Burleson; granddaughter, Tina Rachelle Burleson and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: two sons; Ray Burleson (Debra), of Bakersville, NC and Steve Burleson, of Elizabethton, TN, two sisters; Betty Lingerfelt (Charles) of Bakersville, NC and Margaret Wise, of Penland, NC, grandchildren; Tanya Ambrose (Greg), Jamie Burleson (Shelean), Coty Burleson (Shaina), Jeremy Burleson (Aretha), Tracy McGrath, and Bryan Burleson; several great grandchildren, six step children: Tammy, Vivian, Francis, Cathy, Donald and Edward.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 21, 2020 at Campbell Cemetery at 1:00PM with Randy English officiating.
