Marshall Banks, age 65, of Terry Lane, Bakersville, NC passed away September 29, 2017 at his home. A native of Mitchell County, NC he was a son of the late Glen and Mae Mosley Banks. Marshall was self employed as a roofer and carpenter and was a member of Vians Valley Presbyterian Church in Bakersville, NC.

Marshall loved to hunt, fish, ginseng hunt, and all other outdoor activities. He was a likable person who never met a stranger. He had a kind and loving heart.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori Phillips, eight sisters: Thelma Lovelace, Pearl Yelton, Helen Yelton, Mary Garland, Myrtle Butler, Diane Farley, Josie Garland, and Wanda Hope Yelton, a brother, Ronnie Banks, and one granddaughter, Tiva Clark.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by two brothers: Russell and Edmund Banks, and one sister, Ethel Hoilman.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00AM at LG Gouge Memorial Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
