Marjorie Hilemon, 93, of Bakersville passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021,  after a 13 month battle with a brain tumor. She was the daughter of the late Wash and Esther Laughrn Fox of Green Mtn, NC and the wife of the late Fred Hilemon. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, T.H. Fox and J.D. Fox and 1 sister Vaughtie Roberts. She had a special Bible verse she repeated with her granddaughter every morning: This is the day which the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24. She attended Grace Baptist Church and loved cooking, baking, and providing for family and friends.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are: her daughter Jean Saylor (Jim), and granddaughter Gail Harrell (Ritchie), of Bakersville. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Gladys McKinney (Eugene), Tennie English and Robbie Ayers, of Green Mountain and a brother Clyde Fox (Brenda) also of Green Mountain and one sister-in-law Jean Fox of Asheville, many nieces and nephews, one very special niece Linda Marie Gouge (Keith) of Micaville and a lot of very special friends.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3:00PM at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (Long Branch Rd). In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
