Marion Nell Buchanan, age 83 of the Cane Creek Community, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2023. A native of Hanover, NH, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Ackerman and Florence Butman Capaldo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burbage Buchanan and several of her siblings.

Marion was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and her family. Over the years, she was a nanny to over 100 children. Marion enjoyed bird watching and crafts, but one of her favorite things to do was watching Christmas Movies... all year around.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Angela Singleton and her husband Erick of Spruce Pine, NC; her sisters, Tinzy and Louise and her brother Joe; grandchildren, Kennedy Atwood, Kasey Atwood, Kaleb Atwood and James Singleton; and one great grandchild, Mason Honeycutt.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Cane Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie McClellan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
