Marilyn Diane Gray, age 71, of Bakersville, NC went home to be with her Lord on August 30, 2024 at home.

She was a native of Houston, TX, but moved to Mitchell County in 2018 to be close to her eldest daughter and granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Hiram W. Blake and Bobbie J. McNaughten, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Jack E. Gray, and elder brother David Blake. She is survived by her daughters Michelle Hernandez, Misty Lail, Varanda Gray, son Dwayne Franklin, younger brother James Blake, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marilyn attended church services at Bethlehem Baptist of Fork Mountain, until her illnesses prevented her from going out. She enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music, growing flowers, and watching westerns.

Rest in peace, Mom, we will see you again one day with perfect bodies.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
