Marie Alva McKinney, age 94, of the Glen Ayer Community, Bakersville, NC passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of the late George and Carrie Ledford Cooke. Marie was a member of the New Day House of Prayer. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and she enjoyed farming and her flowers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie McKinney, son, Charles McKinney and brothers: Ralph Cooke and James Cooke.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Gouge (Ronnie) of Bakersville; sons: Ray McKinney (Peggy), and Larry McKinney (Deborah) of Bakersville, and Gary Edward McKinney (Nora) of Spruce Pine; grandchildren: Revonda, Karen, Paige, Abigail, Brady, and Heather; great grandchildren: Kelly, Brandi, and Tanner.

There will be a private family graveside service.
