Lucille B. Peterson, age 82 of Fork Mountain Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord August 12, 2015. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Macon and Jennie Bennett Shelton. She was a homemaker and attended several churches but most recently St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three sons; Mike Peterson (Tina), Darius Peterson (Wilma), and Dennis Peterson, all of Bakersville, NC, one daughter, Anita Banner, of Spruce Pine, NC, two sisters; Jane Booth, of Jonesborough, TN, and Martha Murphy, of Green Mountain, NC, one brother, Troy Peterson, of Green Mountain, NC, six grandchildren; Misty Dotts (Jeremy), Bethany Clontz (Curtis), Josh Sparks (Jessica), Shelley Buchanan (Seth), Daniel Peterson (Faith), David Peterson, and seven great grandchildren; Emma and Elizabeth Dotts, Caroline Clontz, Madison and Merritt Sparks, Dalton Mace, Ashlyn Buchanan, and a special sister in law, Eunice Peterson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Peterson, and two brothers, Lonnie and Robert Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Roger Laws officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00AM at Flat Branch Cemetery.
