Lorraine Lenora Simpson age 89 of Misty Cove Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, November 11, 2016. She had lived in Mitchell County, NC since 2000 and had previously worked at her daughter, Melony's Restaurant in Bakersville, NC.

Survivors include: children; Melony Poppo, of Bakersville, NC, Harry Simpson, of Kerhonkson, NY, Elaine Quick, of Orlando, Florida, and Laurie Brooks, of Mount Dora, Florida, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held out of state at a later date.
