Loretta Sue Willis, age 81, of the Rabbit Hop Community of Spruce Pine passed away on February 22, 2022. She was born in Mitchell County and worked at Hampshire Hosiery for over 30 years. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and a member of Big Crabtree Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her daughter, Kathy Woody Crowder and husband Rick Crowder of Bakersville, son, Allen Willis of Spruce Pine, grandchildren, Jennifer Woody Sparks and husband Michael Sparks of Bakersville, Joshua Willis and husband Mike Paskow of Washington DC, Samuel Willis and wife Amanda Willis of Forest City, great-grandchildren, Dylan Woody, Luke Sparks, Samuel Ralph Willis and Henry Allen Willis, brother Bill Willis and wife June Willis of Bakersville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel Allen Willis, and mother Anna Mae Self.

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 3pm at Big Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery on Rabbit Hop Road in Spruce Pine. Friends and family are welcome. Pastor Mike Rathbone will be officiating the service. There will be no visitation and masks are optional.
