Lois Amanda Fugate Evans, age 89 of Spring Creek Rd. , Bakersville , NC , passed away April 27, 2015 . She was born in Rockwood , TN to the late Esper and Grace Powers Fugate. She was retired after 35 years of service with AT&T.  She was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church , and Pioneers of America of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood E. Evans and a brother Lewis Fugate.

Survivors include: three sons; J. Wayne Lackey, Jimmy Dale Lackey, and Lawrence Edward Lackey, all of Bakersville, NC, one sister Martha Ayers, of Madison, Mississippi, one brother Dean Fugate, of Calhoun, TN, six grandchildren; Kimberly Dawn Smithe, Shannon R. Lackey, Gwyni Lackey, Breanne Lackey, Amanda West, and Travis Lackey, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Randy Wise officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00AM at Cane Creek Cemetery #1.
