Linda Kaye Yelton, age 72 of Grindstaff Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord September 22, 2024. She was a daughter of the late Floyd Howell Sr. and Bernice Silver Howell. She was a Homemaker who greatly enjoyed taking care of her family.

She was a lifelong member of Silver Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed singing with the church trio she was a member of. Linda also enjoyed baking and selling cakes and other baked goods. She also enjoyed caring for her dog Toby.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years Howard Yelton of the home, one daughter Stacy Buchanan (Eric) of Unicoi, TN, one son Chad Yelton (Donna) of Bakersville NC, one sister Betty Jean Hoilman of Bakersville, NC, four grandchildren; Payton Grant (Jeff), Jordan Buchanan (fiancé McKenzie), Zakery Yelton, and Breanna Buchanan, one great grandchild Braylee Duncan.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by one sister Alice Faye Benge, one brother Floyd Howell Jr, and two infant children.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 5:00PM in Silver Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Thacker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
