Dateline: Bakersville

Linda Diane Garland Leach age 70 of Rockdale Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 18, 2026. Linda was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Dallas and Julia Benge Garland. She was previously employed with Ellens Knitting Mill in Spruce Pine.

She attended Rockdale Missionary Baptist Church. Linda was a  people person and would help anyone that she met in life and now has reached her reward in Heaven. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband Jimmy Leach, of the home, her son Brandon Leach, of the home, a special niece Evelyn Whitson (Beaver), of Green Mountain, NC, a very special friend Mack Leach, of Bakersville, NC, brother in law John L Stockton, and sister in law Brenda Garland, both of Bakersville, NC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Linda was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her sister Patsy Stockton and her brothers Eddie and Dallas Wayne Garland.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 3:00PM in Fork Mountain Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend John L Stockton and Reverend Keith Beck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
