Mrs. Lillie Thomas Norman, age 94, of Bakersville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 13 ^th , 2013 at Mission Hospital in Asheville,NC. She was a resident of the Mitchell House in Spruce Pine.

Ms. Lillie was the daughter of  the late Jonah and Martha Howell Thomas. She was a member of Mine Creek Baptist Church and she had lived in Mitchell County most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Raymond Norman; daughter, Hazel Norman; two sons: David and Phil Norman. Lillie was a homemaker, poet, and loved her bible and loved to sing. She loved people and was a proud grandmother. She will be missed.

Ms. Lillie is survived by her son, Bruce Norman and wife Betty; her daughter, Rosa Lee Ledford and husband Delaney all of Bakersville; also surviving are 14 grandchaildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, November 16 ^th , 2013 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Dean Honeycutt and Kenneth Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mine Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
