Leroy “Buster” Henson age 86 of Spruce Pine passed away Wednesday August 12, 2026 at his home. Born in Burke County, NC he was a son of the late Levi and Gladys Carpenter Henson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Geneva Jones Henson, brothers, Roy and Edgar Henson and sisters, Margaret Arney and Mary Henson.

Leroy was retired from Henredon Furniture, he attended Yellow Mountain Baptist Church and he enjoyed squirrel hunting, playing golf and fishing. He was a loving husband and enjoyed going to church and serving the Lord.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife Marcell Hall Henson of the home, brother Harold Henson of Lenoir, sister Grace McCall of Lenoir. 

A graveside service for Mr. Henson will be held at 2:00 pm Friday August 21, 2026 in the Beech Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Avery County with the Rev. Dustin Dellinger officiating.

The family would like to Thank Hospice of the Blue Ridge and Marvin Hall for the exceptional care they provided to Buster.

Henline-Hughes Funeral Service of Bakersville have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Henson.
