LeElla Greene Cooke, age 83 of Staggerweed Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord April 22, 2016.

She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a  daughter of the late Ralph and Modine Hughes Greene. She was retired from the Toe River Health District. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and former member of Roan Mountain Chapter 29 Order of The Eastern Star.

Survivors include: her husband Eldon Cooke Sr., of the home, sons; Eldon M. Cooke Jr., and wife Lisa of Supply, NC, Gregory David Cooke of Johnson City, TN, and Sam Flemons Cooke, and wife Amy of Johnson City, TN, six grandchildren; Justin Cooke, Cassie Huskins, Mindy Murphy, Clayton Cooke, Nathan Cooke, and Baylen Cooke, six great grandchildren; Haley Huskins, Colton Huskins, Mackinzie Cooke, Kylie Cooke, Jason Murphy, and Emma Lee Murphy.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by one sister Betty Jane Greene.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline Hughes Funeral Home, with Daniel Whetstine, Shane Gunter, and Eldon Cooke Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00AM at Cane Creek Cemetery.
