Larry L. Deyton, age 70, of Relief Rd. Extension, Green Mountain, NC, went home to be with the Lord, November 29, 2018. A native of Mitchell County, NC he was a son of the late Nathan H. and Belva Hughes Deyton. He was a graduate of Tipton Hill High School, and John Steed Business College where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He was employed as Director of Mitchell County North Carolina Department of Social Services until his retirement. He was a member and deacon at Brummetts Creek Church of The Brethren. Larry enjoyed fly fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include: his wife; Julia Bradshaw Deyton, of the home, two sons; Christopher A. Deyton, of Spruce Pine, NC, and Jeremy R. Deyton (Jennifer), of Allentown, PA, three brothers; J. D. Deyton , of Red Hill, NC, Rodney K. Deyton (Debbie), of Greeneville, TN, and David Deyton (Karen), of Burnsville, NC, one sister; Mary Margaret Miller (Marvin), of Bluff City, TN, and one grandchild; Lucy Grace Deyton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00PM in Brummetts Creek Church of The Brethren with Pastor Jeff Brewer and Rodney Deyton officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery (Horton Hill Rd).
