Knox Geouge, age 95 of White Oak Road , Bakersville , NC , left his earthly home on Saturday, January 30, 2016 . Knox was born on March 8, 1920 to David Jonathan and Virginia Woody Geouge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Mae Hughes Geouge in 1994, a daughter, Linda Kay Geouge who passed away in 1972; four sisters: Eloise Autrey, Bessie Keller, Arzilla Young and Lovie Sigmon; one brother, Wayne Geouge and a daughter in law, Edna Payne Hughes.

Knox was a veteran of World War II and was known all of his life as a hard worker. He also loved feeding and watching God's (wild) creatures.

Knox is survived by three sons: Tony Hughes of Hickory, NC, Dean Geouge and wife Charlotte and Kenneth Geouge all of Bakersville; brothers: Dudley Geouge and wife Rachel of Hickory and Douglas Geouge and wife Ellen of Double Island; four grandchildren: Kenny Geouge and wife Ava, Lisa Geouge Riddle and husband Cleve, Crystal Geouge Banks and husband Malachi, Anthony Geouge; one great grandchild, Isaiah Waycaster and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Mark McKinney and Cameron Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Island Cemetery with military rites conducted by Sgt E.L. Randolph Chapter 57 D.A.V. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the service hour.
