Kathy McKinney Yelton, age 66 of Fairlight Street NW, Palm Bay, Florida, went home to be with the Lord March 30, 2020. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and the daughter of the late Lewis Parnell and Elva Hughes McKinney.

Kathy was previously employed at Baxter Lab as a quality control supervisor. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bakersville, NC and volunteered for 40 years with Fork Mountain Fire and Rescue. She loved her best buddy Cocoa (her chihuahua).

Survivors include: her husband; Maurice Yelton, two brothers; Jerry McKinney (Vickie), of Bakersville, NC, and Marvin McKinney (Kathy), of Conover, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a son Christopher Yelton.

A private graveside service will be held.
