Katherine Bell Wheeler, age 98, of Hazel Avenue, Spruce Pine, NC went home to be with the Lord, April 2, 2020.

She was a native of Mitchell County and a daughter of the late Molten and Nolla Pitman Buchanan. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and was retired as a cook at City Drive In. She loved her family her friends and cooking.

Survivors include: three daughters; Diane Hoilman (Gene), of Spruce Pine, NC, Shirley Presnell (Ronnie), of Spruce Pine, NC, Judy Buchanan (James), of Spruce Pine, NC, three sons; Jerry Wheeler, of Burnsville, NC, Howard Wheeler Jr. (Gail), of Spruce Pine, NC, and Johnny Wheeler, of Spruce Pine, NC, one sister; Louella Polechio, of Spruce Pine, NC, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband Howard William Wheeler, and son Garland Wheeler.

A private graveside service will be held.
