Junior Yelton, age 82 of Bakersville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Arnold and Sally Buchanan Yelton. He was also preceded in death by two sons: Timothy and Donnie Yelton, and sister, Billie Cooke. Junior retired from Westinghouse in Baltimore , MD , and he was of the Baptist Faith. Junior's favorite hobby was Line Dancing where he was very active in North Carolina , Tennessee and Virginia .

Survivors include his daughters: Debbie, Linda and Diane; sons: Edward, Robi and Gary; sister: Betty Hirsch of Bakersville; brothers: Leonard (Paul) Yelton of Virginia and Elmer Yelton of Marion, NC; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; niece, Tammy Cooke with whom he made his home, and his special pet, Molly.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 17, 2017 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Mark McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Hobson Cemetery . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
