June Grindstaff Willis age 94 of Bakersville , NC passed away December 14, 2014 at her home. She was a native of Mitchell County and a member of Bakersville Baptist Church . She was the daughter of the late Grover and Bertha Grindstaff. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, flowers, and taking care of her pets.

Survivors include two daughters; Brenda Willis and Barbara Buchanan, and husband Kenneth of Bakersville, NC, a grandson Chad Buchanan and wife Tina, great grandchildren; Morgan, Tyler, Tanner, and Dylan Buchanan, step great grandchildren; Darrell, Megan, Billy and Jessie, two sisters; Louise McClellan and Helen Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Willis, a Veteran of World War II, a grandson Michael Buchanan, and her brothers; Carl, Arnold, Paul, and Jay Grindstaff.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 3:00PM in Bakersville Baptist Church with Billy Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lily Branch Cemetery .
