Juanita G. Buchanan, age 71, of Roan View Drive, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, on June 8, 2016 . She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Joseph and Geneva Pittman Grindstaff. She was a member of McKinney Cove Baptist Church , W.M.U at McKinney Cove Baptist Church , and also a former 4H leader. She was retired from Baxter Health Care where she worked in the office.

Survivors include: husband; Jerry Buchanan, of the home, one daughter; Sherrie Buchanan Hoilman, and special friend Kenny Garland of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Betty  G. McKinney, of Spruce Pine, NC, three brothers; David Grindstaff, of Charlotte, NC, Roger Grindstaff, and Mike Foster, both of Bakersville, NC, a grandson; Keenan Hoilman, and eight adopted grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by; a daughter; Debra Buchanan Hughes, one brother; Jim Grindstaff, and two sisters; Jessie Stamey, and Ima Jean Childers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Phil Murdock and Todd Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at McKinney Cove Baptist Church Cemetery .
