Joyce Betty Hall

Joyce Betty Hall passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on April 10, 1932, in Bandana, Mitchell County, NC. She was the daughter of the late James Loranzo Hall and Mamie Rose Howell.

Joyce was a member of and attended Rebels Creek Baptist Church.

Joyce’s family will remember her as a hard-working mother with a cheerful and loving disposition. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed being with family and her many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Marvin Renfro; a son-in-law, Rick Chrisawn; a brother, RB Hall; and two sisters-in-law, Janice Hall and Eloise Hall.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: a son, Ronnie Dale Renfro (Debbie); a daughter, Donna Jill Chrisawn Starnes (Michael); a daughter-in-law, Deborah Renfro; six granddaughters: Stephanie Renfro Evans (Terry), Amanda Chrisawn Dunham (Jason), Heather Renfro Holland (Shane), Amber Renfro Ellis (Mark), Michelle Renfro Mashburn (David), Audra Chrisawn (Joey); 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Hall of Maiden; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Silver Chapel Baptist Church in Bandana, Mitchell County, NC.

The family wishes to thank her neighbors in the Rebels Creek Community for always being kind and helpful to Joyce. Also a special thank you to the McDowell Hospice nurses Barbara, Laney, and Katelyn.
