DATELINE MORGANTON , NC

Joyce Stewart Baird, age 72 of Walker rd, Morganton , NC passed away January 31, 2014 . She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Melvin "Tent" and Lela Pitman Stewart. She was a devout Christian and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Morganton , NC .

Survivors include; her children; Sandra Johnson Rose (fiancé Bobby Smith), Teresa Shook Hildebran, and Cindy Wilson Upright (Jonathan), a brother Carl Stewart, grandchildren; Jarrett Rose, Matthew Rose, Steven Shook, Brian Shook, Christopher Jones, Nicholas Jones, Aaron Upright, and Levi Upright, and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by; two brothers; Wilkie and Ralph Stewart, a sister Helen Gortney, and a son, Phillip Jones.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2:30PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Bob Truax officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM . Interment will follow the service at Bear Creek Cemetery .
