Joshua Lee Whitson, age 36, of Burnsville, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 while traveling through the eastern part of North Carolina. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of Royce Whitson (Deborah) of Marion, NC and Joan Honeycutt Whitson (Steve King) of Burnsville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Oscar Whitson, maternal grandparents, Jack and Cassie Honeycutt and several aunts and uncles. Joshua loved to travel the country, loved his family and was a "Jack of all Trades and a Master of ALL", he could do anything and do it well.

Survivors include, in addition to his parents, his two sons: Joshua Gage Whitson and Jaden Van Whitson of Burnsville; paternal grandmother, Viola Whitson of Green Mountain and several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, October 28, 2018 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Revs. Ronnie Whitson and Donald Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Oscar Whitson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Whitson Family to help with funeral expenses.
