Johnny Lee Buchanan, age 82 of N226 Highway, Bakersville, NC passed away June 6, 2024. He was born in Yancey County, NC to the late Bill and Essie Gouge Buchanan.

He was previously employed in construction and later sales.

Johnny was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister Cathy Joan Burnette.

Survivors include a daughter Reba Knowlton, of Hickory, NC, three sisters: Mary Stafford (Reverend Don), of Bakersville, NC, Elizabeth Kay Hay, and Deb Mitchell, both of Spruce Pine, NC, one brother Anthony (Tony), Buchanan (Dottie), of Reidsville, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
