Jo Ann Simmons, 69, of  Lynn Gap Rd, Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Brian Center Health and Rehab. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Virgie Gurley Roberts. Jo Ann was a graduate of Harris High School and Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. She was a Real Estate Broker for 44 years and was a member of the NC Realtors Association.

Survivors include her husband, John Simmons of the home; brother, Gene Roberts of Spruce Pine; numerous nieces and nephews and her special canine friend, Susie.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Monday, December 31, 2018 in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church with Nathan Silvers and Dallas Renfro officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens.
