Jimmy Lee Sparks, age 55, of Gouge Cove Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord December 27, 2021. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC. Jimmy was a former employee of Baxter Healthcare and also enjoyed working with his son Tyler, whom he loved very much ,in his lawn care business (Sparks Lawn Service).  He also loved helping Tyler in his woodworking business. Jimmy was a simple man with a big heart that loved to help others, he was a great father, and husband he loved his entire family.

Survivors include; his wife Tammy Hall Sparks, of the home, his son Tyler Sparks, of Spruce Pine, NC, his father, and step mother Benny Briggs (Jenny), two sisters: Regina Jarrett and Crystal Rowe, both of Bakersville, NC, five brothers: Johnny Sparks, John Briggs, Benny (Spank) Briggs, Adam Sparks, and Michael Sparks, all of Bakersville, NC; his special aunt, Naomi Phillips; and his father and mother in law, Tommy and Mary Hall.

He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Sparks, and his grandmother Estelle Sparks and most recently his cousin Jenny, who he called Tootsie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral home with Reverend Mike Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Gouge Cemetery on Gouge Cove Rd.
