Dateline: Bakersville, NC

J.H. Putman, age 84, of the Buladean Community passed away May 30, 2024. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Halder and Bernice Ledford Putman. He was previously employed with The American Thread Company. He enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR racing.

Survivors include three children: Phillip Putman (Tammy), and Ricky Putman (Sandra), all of Bakersville, NC, and Lesia Jarrett (David), of Kingsport, TN, two brothers Kenneth Wade Putman and Bobby Ray Putman, former wife Nellie Byrd Putman, six grandchildren: Jordon Putman (Mya), Abby Putman (Jacob), Dustin Putman (Taylor), Haylee Price (Kirk), Ryan Jarrett (Britney), and Cameron Jarrett (Katie), and seven great grandchildren.
