Jerry Emory Shepheard, age 66, of Sean Drive, Spruce Pine, NC passed away March 9, 2020 at his home. He was a son of the late Earl and Edrus Austin Shepheard. He was previously employed with Feldspar Corporation. He attended Sullins Branch Baptist Church and loved fishing.

Survivors include: two daughters; Tina Hughes (Dennis), of Spruce Pine, NC, and Tammy Garland (Douglas), of Bakersville, NC, two sisters; Emma Jean Grindstaff, and Betty Gardner (Lester), both of Bakersville, NC, three brothers; Randy Gortney (Melissa), Danny Gortney (Melanie), and Darren Gortney, all of Bakersville, NC, stepfather; Clarence Gortney, of Bakersville, NC, grandchildren; Tiffany Ledford, Danielle Garland, Ashley Kerlie, Dakota Garland, Alexis Garland, Kedren Hughes, and Kylee Hughes, great grandchildren; Kennedy Breedin, Emma Breedin, and Ava Kerlin.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Steve Glenn and G.B. Garland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
