Jerry Putman age 72 of Battle Branch the Buladean community passed away Monday October 26, 2026 at his residence. Born in Mitchell County he was the son of the late Russell and Olene Mosley Putman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jeremy Lee Putman.

Jerry was a member of the New Day House of Prayer he loved horseback riding, gardening, camping and being around people.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife Diane “Flossie” Gardner Putman of the home, sisters, Judy Faye Miller of Green Mountain and Janice Garden of Buladean and two special friends and brother in laws, Melvin Gardner of Spruce Pine and Mike Garland of Johnson City, TN. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mr. Putman will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday October 28, 2026 in the Beans Creek Cemetery with the Revs. Mike Peterson, GB Garland and Mike Garland officiating.
