Jerone Cameron Larsen
Jerone (Jerry) Cameron Larsen , age 75 of Spruce Pine, North Carolina died at home on September 9, 2016 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. A Celebration of his life will be scheduled in early 2017.
Jerry was born on April 30, 1941 to Clifford and Evelyn Larsen, of Oldham, South Dakota. He was the second of six children, growing up with three sisters, Elaine, Dianne and Janet and two brothers, Eugene and Dean. His family moved to Milaca, MN when he was five years old. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1959. He graduated from Concordia College in Nebraska in 1966, moving from there to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he lived for several years.
Jerry chose his partner, George Fowler in 1963. They lived together in Minneapolis where he began a career in architectural design and construction. In 1979, they moved to Connecticut where he established his own business, You're Next. He was well known for his innovative designs and beautiful artwork and had several employees who loved working for him. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, he and his partner were married in Palm Springs, CA on March 6 th , 2013. They continued to live in Norwalk, Ct., until February of 2014 when Jerry closed his business and they moved to Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
Jerry is survived by his spouse, George Fowler, his brother and wife (Gene and Ginny Larsen in Covington, GA), his sister, Elaine Millam in Palm Springs, CA, his sister, Dianne and her husband (Ralph Herrera) in Wabasha, MN, his brother, Dean and his wife (Alecia Larsen) in Columbus, Ohio, and his youngest sister, Janet and her husband (Ron Short) in Palm Springs, CA, plus a host of nieces and nephews who have all loved him dearly and will sorely miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Evelyn Larsen in 2006, his brother-in-law, Donald Millam in 2012, and his nephew, Matthew Larsen in 2014.
