J.C. Vann Butler age 77, of the Buladean Community, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home. He was the son of the late William and Mary Ellen Carver Butler and a member of the Grace Baptist Church .

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Banks Butler of the home; daughters: Lori Butler South and husband Steve of Green Mountain and Teresa M. Butler of Bakersville; sisters: Lovetta Street of Atlanta , Ga. and Virginia Garland of Bakersville; grandchildren: Cody South and Raquel Elliott; great grandchildren: Adrian South, Marlee Elliott and Remmie Elliott. J.C. was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by four sisters, three brothers and his grandson, Jason Sanders.

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Ronnie Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Fork Mountain Cemetery .
