Jason Lee "Hippie" Phillips, age 37 of Becka Lane , Newland , NC , passed away January 23, 2018 . He was employed in security with Linville Ridge. He was a member of Newland Fire Department.

Survivors include: his wife Meghan Wyandt Phillips of Burnsville, NC, his parents: Maloy Lee Phillips, of Bakersville, NC and Paulina Bradshaw Phillips, of Morganton, NC, a daughter; Zoe Claire Phillips, of Burnsville, NC, his maternal grandmother; Nancy Tompkins Bradshaw, a sister; Melissa Ann Phillips Vance, of Rutherfordton, NC, two brothers; Robert "Bear" Wayne Phillips and John Wesley Phillips, both of Bakersville, NC, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend; Woody Smith II.

He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandfather; Bobby Joe Bradshaw, and his paternal grandparents Ernest Malone and Mary Ann Hoilman Phillips.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Staton officiating.
